In addition to safety risks, and product and economic loses, fugitive emissions contribute to air pollution and climate change. 50-60% of uncontrolled Fugitive Emission is caused by leaking valve. Fugitive Emission testing is a blanket term for a variety of testing procedures, for evaluation of external leakage of valve stem seals (or shaft) and body joints of isolating valves and control valves. This course is intended for technicians new to fugitive emission testing or supervisory personnel responsible for the inspection of valves intended for application in volatile air pollutants and hazardous fluids. You will learn to:

• Understand leak rates and volumes
• Use of tracer gases and leak detection methods
